| i was on yasmin for 3 years and it worked great, i gained a little weight at first but was able to easily take it off. a couple months ago i switched to yaz, and i had recently lost 25 pounds..well i put on 10 pounds in a month, while dieting and exericising. has anyone else had this problem? i dont see any other reason for the weight gain, so i was just wondering if anyone had anything similar |

| When I was a senior in high school I went on Yasmin because I had heard so much about it and my gyno gave me a few samples to try. Well I did try it and LOVED it and stayed on it for about 2 years until my gyno's nurse suggested I try Yaz. She said it was about the same thing and I get shorter periods. At first I felt good, but around the second pack I started getting horrible headaches, my periods would stretch out to a week instead of a few days, I would breakout, and I had terrible mood swings. Interestingly enough, my best friend started getting the same symptoms as me after taking Yaz and she hadn't even been on birth control before, so I had the feeling we probably weren't alone. I don't know why I switched, but I am definitely going back to Yasmin because Yaz is just evil!! |

| i was on yasmin at first and my doc wanted me to try yaz b/c of the lower hormone level. i felt fine...the same emotionally/mentally, but i had a lot of breakthrough bleeding. yaz only kept me period free for about 12 days/month with spotting the rest of the time and a 4 day real period. yaz was terrible for me. |

I took Yasmin for a few years for irregular periods and acne, but then my doctor decided that he wasn't going to refill my prescription anymore, so I had to go to a gynecologist for it. I told her while I was there that Yasmin was working great for me, and I just needed a refill. So she put me on Yaz.
Worst. Thing. Ever.
It made my irregular periods even worse! I never knew when I was going to get my period, and I had breakthrough bleeding almost nonstop. Not to mention, it made me start to break out again.
I went back this morning to switch back to Yasmin, and I had to force her to put me back on it, and even still she said that she was going to give me Yaz too for when I 'decide to switch back'!
I will never go back to that gynecologist, and certainly never back to Yaz. |
