Posted: 02/14/05 - 03:00 Post subject: Yellow discharge after LEEP |
I have had my first LEEP two weeks ago. I had some precancerous changes in vagina, so they completely removed it with the LEEP treatment. Soon after that I have noticed yellow vaginal discharge. This situation made me worry enough, and now I will become crazy again. Why I have yellow discharge, maybe something goes bad?

The Loop Electrocautery Excision Procedure is called LEEP. It is used to diagnose, or find out all abnormalities and treat or remove most of tissue problems. Usually that tissue problem, that requires LEEP are placed on the outer and inner cervix, vagina and vulva. Leep treatment is about 92% effective in completely removing the precancerous changes. There are small chances, maybe 8% that these precancerous changes may have invisibly spread to another area. Once that this procedure is done, there is not further discomfort for most of the woman. Some of them maybe will feel cramping, and bleeding over the next few days. At the end, what you are worried for, vaginal discharge. After four to six weeks after LEEP many women feel yellow, white brown or tan vaginal discharge, and may be sometimes smooth and lumpy. That is part of the heeling process and will stop when heeling is complete. Only if that persist more then month you should visit doctor.
