Zocor (simvastatin) effectivness?

Zocor is my doctors next choice for my high cholesterol. I have heard some rumors about this medicine, so I would like to found out more information about it. My question is about those monitoring. I am not a fan of the hospitals and it seems bothering for me to do lots of blood test only for one single medicine. Can you please tell me something more about Zocor (simvastatin) effectiveness? Is it that good, enough to do all those blood tests?

Is your life good enough to live for a while? If it, is than you should listen to your doctor.
Zocor (simvastatin) is a medicine that can improve your life and prolong it. This medicine can help you to decrease the risk of heart attack and brain damage. You should do all those blood tests, so what? You hate hospitals, so what? For a good and decent life it is to small sacrifice.
