My problem is pectus exavatus. Because of it I was advised by my doctor to start going to a gym. Also, I was told to heighten exercise for my pectorals. My decision was to do five reps in five sets. It is difficult to maintain but I am trying. Is this 5x5 good approach or I needed to change something?

According to my experience best approach is the one that gives results. But my personal opinion is that you need to use more weight for lifting and less sets. Try to do more reps with higher weight, but decrease number of sets. This is only my experience and personal opinion. This is not obligation or a role for exercising.
