Hello, folks. My mother has been diagnosed with byssinosis. I know something bout the disease, but I would like to know something more about the best treatment or procedures for this disease. I would appreciate if anyone could help me with this. Thank you in advance for your help. Bye, there!

Hello. Byssinosis is a lung disease caused by inhaling the cotton dust or dust from other vegetable fibers. This usually happens in textile industry. I guess your mother’s job is related to this branch. The most important thing in the treatment is to stop the exposure. Changing job is sometimes needed. Bronchodilatators are usually recommended to ease the symptoms. Corticosteroids are reserved for more severe cases. Quitting smoking is also recommended. Home oxygen therapy is also recommended.
