Saint John's Wort vs Prescription medicine in depression treatment?

Hello, folks. My daughter has been diagnosed depression. I know that she will be on medications, but I wonder whether depression can be controlled by herbs. I hear some good things about Saint John’s Wort. Or do you think we should stick to prescription medicines? I would gladly hear out your opinion.

Hello. Many people suggest Saint John’s Wort for depression. They say it helps with mild to moderate forms of depression. Many use it for anxiety or sleep disorders. However, there are some studies that show that this herb is not efficient comparing to placebo. Perhaps, you should stick to prescription medicines.
