Hi, I am a twenty six years old man. I have a big problem. You see, I started drinking when I was sixteen. Back than it wasn't so terrible. But now, a day doesn't go by without me getting drunk. Sometimes I woke up in places I've never been to before and had no idea how I got there. People started avoiding me, I have no more friends. Couple of times I even had problems with the police. I have completely lost my dignity because of this addiction. I tried to stop drinking but it was just impossible. Please give me some advice on how to stop drinking and get my social life back?

Hi, I have been on the road you're going trough now. When you drink you do not have only one problem. Drinking causes multiple problems as you said yourself. A person addicted to drinking has no friends. His actions, while drunk, produce loss of his dignity. If you have strong will like I had you will listen to my advices. Don't try to stop drinking by taking some medicine. First of all talk to your ex friends about the problem and ask them for the help and support. This way you admit that you have a problem. Next, get a professional help in institution created to help people with your kind of problem. These institutions have programs made to get you stop drinking. That is what I did and believe me it helped me a lot. I haven't tasted alcohol for five years and I have no intention of trying it. I got my friends and my family back.
