I hit a rock (boulder) and flipped my Volswagen Vanagon, during which my cheek hit the steering wheel really hard. (I was driving at about 30-35 mph.) The swelling came on very fast and no amount of ice was helping so i went to the ER. Thankfully, I didn't have any breaks or fractures! But the bruising and swelling were gruesome! The bruising is going away and the redness in the whites in my eyes (i didn't realize how green my eyes really were until the white part turned blood red) BUT the problem is this... The swelling is NOT going down at the point of impact to my face. It feels spongy and hurts real bad still. It has been 2 and a half weeks since the accident and I'm wondering if it's possible that there is fluid that needs to be drained? I don't know what to do. Please advise.
