from what i understand from reading this site ovulation occurs on day 14 of your cycle. so i was wondering do you start counting the days when your period starts or when it's finished. also if you start ovulating on day 14 is it best to have sex on say days 10-14 instead of when ovulation starts? we plan on having sex like everyday i was just wondering which days we might want to do it twice or three times Wink
thanks

Each womans cycle is different.

You can buy special tests to determine when you ovulate.

DAY 1 is when your period STARTS.

thanks for the reply. o.k i have one more question on this topic. So say a girls period lasts longer than 3-4 days and goes more like 5-7 days, would you still expect ovulation to occur around day 14? would it make a difference at all? thank you all

14 days is just an average! it doesn't apply to everyone! its like saying everyones cycle is 28 days long, but obviously it is just an average, many many women's cycles are different to that!

you can't "assume" your ovulation is at 14 days, because everyone is different, it wont work nearly as well as medically monitoring your ovulation, try monitoring your basal body temperature if you want to know for sure.
