abdomen pain and abnormal pulse

hey people. i am also suffering with pain central of my abdomen and just above my belly button area which feels sharp and consistent. the pain hasnt been getting any better although ive been on 60mls of lansoprazole with lots of co-codamol for the past 5 days. im at a crucial time at uni at the moment and im realy falling behind, i cant go into unni without falling asleep in the corner which i think is down to the medication. i constantly feel dizzy and need to be in bed, i cant eat too much if not, at all becase it worsens the pain. i wake up at least a couple of times during the night because the pain is so excruciating and theres no position i can lay in which will lessen the pain. The emergency gp. noticed i had an abnormal pulse in my stomach area, and he told me to register with a gp here and get some scans and have a full investigation as to what this could be, but in the mean time he allowed me to increase the dosage.
I feel a bit neglected to be honest because i still feel i havent been given an answer, i know what i need to do but in the mean time has anyone got any idea what this could be if it turns out not to be gasrytis or acid reflux?
im 20 years old, female 5ft7 and weigh just under 9 stone.

it sounds to me like you have an ulcer. The Lansoprazole is supposed help treat ulcers, but Co-Codamal has alot of paracetamol (acetaminophen) which can cause dizziness (among other things).

Obviously you will want to get it treated by a doctor, but one easy thing you might try is drinking some Kefir. you can find it at your local health food store (there are many different brands). it's basically a thick yogurt with lots of good bacteria. very good for the gastric-tract. it may help with some of the pain.
