| I am 39 years old. I had rollerball ablation over 3 years ago. I recently gave birth (in September) to a healthy baby girl. My pregnancy didn't go without problems. I was hospitalized at 25 weeks and given a cerclage due to funneling/shortening of my cervix. I came home on bedrest a week later. 3 weeks later my water broke at 29 weeks. I was again put in the hospital on bedrest. I delivered my baby at 31 1/2 weeks. She had rec'd steriod shots for her lungs, and other than her small birthweight she was fine. I did have to have an emergency hysterectomy after her birth due to placenta increta (the placenta had grown half way through my uterus). She spent 18 days in the NICU before coming home. I would not encourage pregnancy after an ablation without the consultation of a willing high risk ob/gyn. My pregnancy was truly a miracle! |

| I had an ablasion and became pregnant. I carried to 24 weeks and started bleeding out. They life flighted me and did and emergency hyst. My baby girl didn't not survive. Did anyone tell you whom are pregnant about the possible mental and physical handicaps of the baby? My pregnancy did look normal but we were terrified. At the time of my situation there were on 23 reported cases which was in 2002. Good luck to all. What I would have given to know more info at the time it happened to me. |

Wow. I'm having the darndest time trying to find any information on pregnancy after ablation.
A little over a year ago, I had the Nova Sure ablation done, and I didn't have a SINGLE period after that. I was so sure I was just...safe...
Here I am, a year later, and I am 9 weeks along with the most miraculous UTERINE pregnancy. My regular OB acts like I have nothing to be worried about, but I'm FREAKING OUT!!!
I thought I was done with having kids, but I'm still young (26) and, like I told my doctor, now that the opportunity has presented itself (for another one), I'm thrilled. I just feel like I'm holding my breath and waiting for the ball to drop. I'm so scared that something will happen... |

| I too had a Thermal Endometrial Ablation done. I am now 28 yrs old. My husband and I had to weigh the risk. After our second child was born I had my tubes tied. I am not sure if that was a wise move. I have always had HEAVY periods and we were told that having my tubes tied might help.. so I had it done. Well, my son is now 2 yrs old and I have never gone more then 3 days per month without bleeding. My iron and blood counts were dangerously low. No doctor was able to control my bleeding. We finally were referred to an OB-GYN specialist and he said I had 2 choices.. either an Ablation or a Hysterectomy. I picked the Ablation. I am SO happy with the results. I had the Ablation done on Sept 20th 2007 and had heavy or light bleeding from Sept 20th - Oct 30th. From Oct 31 to today (Jan 8, 2008) I have not had anymore bleeding. YES! I just wish I could have one more child... but the doctors told me it was pretty much near impossible and it would be dangerous for me. So I just thank god everyday for the 2 happy and healthy children I do have. |

Still have regular periods every month, just a little lighter. My husband and I would possibly like to have another child; but I am not sure what direction to take. It sounds like you can have a vaginal ultrasound done to look at the uterus lining? Would this be the first step to take? Thanks for any input - |
guest ive had a ballon ablation and approx 18 months ago i had a miscarriage but then in august last year i found out i was pregnant again.i statred bleeding and went straight to hospital where they told me i was having a miscarriage. however after blood tests my hormone levels were still high so i had a scan.still they told me there was no baby and i asked thm to check again.on doing so they found a heartbeat and with close monitoring in the frst few weeks the pregnancy continued. i am now 38 wks and im due to go in on monday for a c-section. athough nervous fingers crossed and good luck to anyone els who is expecting after an ablation. there is hope! |

| I am 32 years old I have 2 healthy children. My husband left us and I have a new boyfriend and we want to have a baby together. I had a balloon ablation 2 years ago and I had a tubal in 2002. My periods are normal. I did not have periods for 9 months after the ablation. When I did start having them in Dec 2006 they were heavy and longer than before. Now they are back to normal. I have a healthy period every month with moderate bleeding. I work in an OB office and I am kind of embarrased to ask if I can go through IVF to conceive since I have had an ablation and a tubal. I heard from a friend that it's not impossible it's just really risky. Please help! |

| I am so glad to find this site!!! I had the novasure procedure about a year and a half ago...I have not had a period since but really want to have a child. I have divorced and am with a wonderful man that does not have any children. I was deceived about being sterile....I really want to have a child! I have heard of things such as Provera to bring on a period and also baby aspirin every day to promote lining growth.....Let me know how all of you pregnant ladies that have had these procedures are doing!!!!! |
