abnormal bleeding

i had my period about a week ago and am now having moderate to severe vaginal bleeding. I began birthcontrol and stoped using but remained sexually active about four days ago. yesterday is when the bleeding started. Should i be concerned? Or could i be pregnant(is the bleeding a sign)

It's normal to have abnormal periods after going off of birth control. If you feel the bleeding is going on for too long or if it's too heavy, call your doctor and inquire about your symptoms. They can tell you if you need medical attention.
