Because they do not want to be pregnant.

I am not a teen, and I am in fact happily married and financially well off, and I myself have had 3 abortions.

People that do not wish to gestate a pregnancy have NO OTHER option, as adoption requires a woman to STAY pregnant, which she may not wish to do.
