abotion 6 months ago and still bleeding in between periods

I had an abortion 6 months ago and bled lightly for about 5-6 weeks. My periods started fine but I would bleed lightly for about 2 weeks before they started. I decided to go on the pill two months ago to see if that would stop the bleeding but it's a week until my pill packet is done and I have started bleeding lightly again. I spoke to my doctor about it and she said to just keep an eye on it...not very helpful!! Is this normal after an abortion or could it be something bad?[/b]
