actinic keratosis treatment with fluorouracil cream .5%

My dermatologist has prescribed a two week treatment of Carac
fluorouracil cream for treatment of my actinic keratosis - over my entire face.
I also have rosacea and sun damage which will be treated later with photofacial treatments.
I have since researched treatments using
photodynamic therapy and wonder if this treatment which is newer would be better.
He may not have the equipment for photodynamic therapy, therefore, he does not prescribe it's use.
I understand the Carac treatment will be very uncomfortable and will take weeks.
Do you have an opinion as to which treatment is better?
