What are the side effects of addhd medications? My son is 4 years old and doctor thinks that he has problem called addhd. He suggested me to start with certain therapy. I’ve always been avoiding giving drugs to my children. Do you have any information on this?

ADHD includes inattention, hyperactivity and over activity. Treatment includes behavioural management and family support groups. Drugs that are used are dexamphetamine and methylphenidate. They help releasing dopamine in cns. My daughter had problem with inattention when went to kindergarten. I also wanted to avoid drug therapy. She and my husband took part in the support group that we were suggested to join. She has got over that disorder soon after.
