I have been drinking heavily for 3-4 years. Atleast one full bottle of wine per night or more every night. I quit drinking 7 days ago. I had flu like symptoms coming on the last two days that I was drinking. On the first, second and third days of not drinking, I had a fever, sweating, clammy skin, muscle aches and loss of appetite. I began feeling better on the 4th and 5th day. On the 6th day I woke up with sever muscle aches and later experienced shortness of breath and cold sweats. I returned to urgent care and was diagnosed with pnuemonia. Can pnuemonia be a side effect of alcohol withdrawals or is this unrelated?
