My sister suffers from a breast cancer. I need some information about adjuvant chemotherapy with FEC. she is going to be on this therapy from next week.
Adjuvant chemotherapy is the use of drugs as additional treatment. It is used for patients with cancers that are thought to have spread outside their original sites. This type of treatment has been very successful in changing the behavior of certain cancers such as breast cancer. I know that there are treatments with FEC 50 and FEC100. Research has been made which showed that treatment with adjuvant FEC 100 demonstrated better DFS and OS versus FEC 50 at 10 years of follow-up. FEC 100 is a more optimal regimen for long-term survival in patients with poor prognosis, given the risk-benefit ratio.
