I am having a wisdom tooth out on wednesday and my dentist made it clear that I shouldn't have alcohol before it. Alcohol thins your blood and as you bleed quite a bit after the extraction it can delay the formation of the blood clot needed to prevent 'dry socket' and other infections as a result of. Alcohol can also slow the effects of anaesthetic meaning that more is used as it will not numb you as much (I know from experience!). Also there is adrenaline in anaesthetic which isn't really a good combination mixed with alot of alcohol in your bloodstream. Hope this helps.
