Hello, I am 65 years old and since menopause began, I have heart problems; I have angina pectoris and increased risk for thrombosis (factor v leiden). And I have been using Amitriptyline for my depression. I cannot say that it does not help, but from time to time I have these suicidal thoughts, and I am sure I did not have much of those before I started using A therapy.

Well, I guess you should know that even though it can deal effectively with the depression symptoms, it has some side effects that could drastically affect patient’s mental state. I think of those suicidal thoughts. This means that a good balance between a need and a risk must be produced in order to avoid that potentially dangerous effect.
