I'm 20 yrs old and clinically diagnosed with anorexia (5 ft, 4 in/96 lbs). For about three/four years, even when at a slightly higher weight, I did not get my period at all, or I got a light period or spotting every four to five months.
This past month, I have been taking psychotropic drugs for anxiety and depression. I took lexapro for about 17 days and then stopped because of the side effects, and have been taking either Xanax or Klonopin every day for a few weeks. The strange thing is that I have gotten my period twice this month! The first time was very light with no accompanying symptoms, but the second time was preceded with breast tenderness and cramping. Could this be a result of a horomonal imbalance due to the medications?
