i have recently been prescribed augmentin duo forte and am on the pill, i want to have unprotected sex but it is now in the cycle after i have taken the antibiotcs. i had taken the antibioitcs in the late stage of my pill. i want to know how long i should wait to have unprotected sex
To be honest, If I were you I would wait a cycle to be sure. Its only a few extra days wait, and its best to be protected. because I am not sure how long those antibiotics will stay in your body for.
Although if you are desperate, I would observe the 7 day rule - treat the pills on antibiotics as if they were not effective, and use backup protection (condoms) for a further 7 days once you are off the antibiotics as well as your normal daily pill.
