I got the prescription for neuropentin for the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia. I’ve heard that it has plenty of other indications that are much less serious than mine. What are the side effects of neurontin? I’d like to hear some opinions of people that were on gabapentin because of neuralgia. Thanks.

It is certainly proven pain reliever. I was on neurontin few years ago because of the same reason as you. I was on 3000mg daily. But as I’ve heard, gabapentin is a type of drugs that has great effect in one, is a sugar pill for the others but also causes severe side effects in some people. There is a great intraindividual variability of gabapentin’s action. So, advices are not of use.
