I've been on Yaz for 6 months, first month I felt horrible but Doc said side effects are gone in 3mo. For the first 3 months my period was great, very little cramps, my breast grew a cup size, lost weight and my skin never looked better. BUT, I have had 2 periods a month AND spotting, awful fatigue (sleeping 9+hrs/day and still tired), blurry vision, bloating, vaginal pain, sex drive out the window, headaches and just an overwhelming need to fight with EVERYONE!! I absolutely dislike cursing, but I now feel like I have developed a bad case of tourette's and very scary road rage. I've been pregnant before and know what it's like, every month I feel pregnant. At first my appetite was low and now I want to eat everything I see. I started this pill at 115lbs (I'm 5'7), healthy-all-organic-jog 5miles/day-happy-go-lucky-horny-gal. Now, will eat a gallon of ice cream in one sitting, haven't worked out in 4months, couch potato, hate everyone and don't want sex. SO WHY AM I ON THIS TOXIC DRUG?!!! Good question, I'm buying the LadyComp and quitting these poisonous drugs. LadyComp is just as effective as the pill but leaves your hormones alone. DRUG FREE IS THE WAY TO BE!! Evil or Very Mad

Not that I am glad to see that the majority of you are experiencing the same symptoms as I am, I am just glad that I am not alone. I just finished my sixth month of YAZ and for the past four months I just thought I was losing my mind. I started taking YAZ to minimize a fibroid in my uterus and am beginning to think the fibroid is better then what I am dealing with.

First went my sex drive! At first I believed I was too fat to have sex with my boyfriend, no wait, maybe I stopped having sex with him because I thought he hated me or because I wasn't good enough, followed by feelings of insecurity and indecisions(never before yaz). Then came the constant crying, depression, migraines, anxiety, and the constant need to fight with my boyfriend about EVERYTHING! Worst of all is the CONSTANT MOOD SWINGS. I am 27 years old and feel unmotivated to anything. I have become unsociable and prefer to sit on my couch ALL DAY AND NIGHT! Instead of curing or even helping my PMS, I think the pill actually gave me PMDD. On a positive note, I get my periods on time with minimal cramps (the cramps I do get are in the middle of the month lasting for days).

The truth is, I never felt like this before and I don't know how much more I can take. Not everyone understands what I am going through and my psychotic episodes are destroying my relationships.

This was my sixth and LAST month on YAZ. My advice to the women out there, I am NOT a doctor, but if you start to experience these symptoms please try not to wait it out for as long as I did. Nobody should have to feel as horrible and as crazy as we do. I don't know when I am going to feel healthy again, but I hopes it's soon, because I am jumping out of my skin.

Good luck to all the women out there xox

I am surprised this stuff is still being presrcribed! my 21 yo daughter started taking Yaz about 6 weeks ago to see if it helped her PMS symptoms. She has been treated for depression in the past. The first month wasn't bad, just larger breasts and a typical period. But the past week has been a nightmare. She has been totally exhausted, in bed by 9 pm every night, crying and feeling suicidal. She also started breaking out in hives and developed a cyst in her arm. I called the gyn office and they said it probably was the Yaz and to stop taking it immediately. It's been 2 days now and she is starting to get a little more energy and the crying jags have stopped. No period yet but they said it should start soon. I just wondered how long after discontinuing Yaz it will take to get back to normal.

Actually, my sister and I both tried Yaz for a short amount of time. I took Yasmin before that and Yaz was supposed to be a new/similar version. We both had issues with bleeding through, PMS seemed to worsen, and it did nothing for my cramps. My time with Yaz was short-lived.

I was on othro-low, but would get my period for two weeks straight, so I switched to Yaz. Il'd rather experience the menstration side effects any day rather than the emotional rollar coaster I am on now. I am so glad that I am not the only one experiencing extreme moodiness. This is my 2nd month & after this pack I'm done. I am contacting my OBGYN tomorrow.

I've been using yaz, and there are some negatives and some positives.
The first week my body had to adjust to it, so I felt tired and weak like I had no energy. Also, yaz controls your hunger, I used to eat around the clock and I've lost soo much weight from Yaz. Now I go threw times where I forget to eat or I'm too tired to eat or I'm just not hungry. I went from eating all the time to 1-2 times daily. I've lost alot of weight. My acne is clearing up as well. My mood is also amazing, I've even stopped taking my anti-depressants because yaz works so great by itself. By the way, don't ever get the depo-vera which is the shot because it makes you gain up to 40 + pounds and makes you very bitchy.

I've been on Yaz for six months and recently started having chest pain. I'm only 22 and don't take any other medication so of course I'm freaking out. Going to the OB/GYN this week and getting off this crazy pill. I've also experienced the fatigue and mood swings.

I'm about a week into my second pack of yaz. I called my today doctor to get off of it and get back on Loestrin. I've been on Loestrin (on and off for years) for my hormone fluctuations and cysts on my ovaries that occur under conditions of extreme stress. I'm 37 and my doctor wanted me to go on the pill every month to use is as a preventative medicine instead of only to treat the cysts after they showed up.
I've had problems with puffy red spots that look like hives on my cheeks (right on the side of my nose) for a few years now, and I thought that yaz may help get rid of it. The only side effect I've ever had from Loestrin was nausea the first month while my body adjusted to it.

Yaz does help the skin, but since starting it I feel so drained that I have no ambition to do anything. Normally I am high energy and get a lot of stuff done at work during the day and at home at night. I've had on and off slight depression as long as I can remember, but normally it comes and goes. Since starting the yaz, it came and never left. I've also noticed increased anxiety with no real trigger.

I thought it was stress, but all of my extreme stresses (for the past 4 months) are slowly going away, but the feeling of complete exhaustion and inability to focus on one task long enough to get anything done hasn't gone away. I can't remember having any "happy" feelings since starting this medication. My sex drive has been non-existent since beginning this med to the point that it's starting to cause marital issues...my husband thinks that I'm not attracted to him anymore, when nothing could be further from the truth. I love him very much and when I look at him, I see the most handsome, loving man I have ever seen. I've been moderately irritable and snippy with people.

I have had severe abdominal cramping for the past month and have an appt with a gastroenterologist next month. After reading everything online, I am suspecting that it's the yaz. Hopefully I'll feel better in a few days.
