| I have been on Yaz for 11 days, and so far no side effects. I was having migraines two weeks out of four previously, so this was an effort to get my hormones under control, and eventually not have a period. So far no break through, no mood swings, no weight gain, nothing. The only complaint so far is that I still have zits! I was hoping they'd get better, but they seem to be worse. Since that wasn't my main reason for taking Yaz, I'm good with it. |

| I have been on Yaz since May of this year. I have had none of these symptoms. It has helped my mood swings more then any other pill. If anything I feel my sex drive has gone up because I'm not always in a bad mood. I have had no migraines (which I am prone to), my skin doesn't break out, I'm not tired. I had slight weight loss, but nothing major. I am so happy with it, and it is the first pill that doesn't make me a raging B*tch. My boyfriend has been so happy with me on it, and he is willing to pay $50 a month when my insurance runs out this month. |

I am sitting here in tears because I am so glad and sad to see all this information about YAZ that I wasn't aware of before putting my teenage daughter on this medication. Because her periods were so painful with every symptom imaginable and tired of going to the ER every month, the doctor and I decided to put her on YAZ. She was fine the first two months but this last month has been a nightmare. She has missed weeks of school due to extreme fatigue, daily migraine headaches, hot flashes, cold chills and now we're worried about grades. We've gone to her pediatrican every week and sometimes twice a week for the last month to figure out what was wrong. She has had chest x-rays and blood work done. She became so lethargic one Sunday afternoon I thought she was passing out so I rushed her to the ER. I asked her gynecologist about perhaps it was the YAZ and like others I was told - NO. They told me that if it was the YAZ it would have happened after the first month. She's had her thyroid checked and it turned out to be normal. I am convinced now that it is the YAZ and I've told her to stop taking it. Believe me her gyno is going to hear from me. Everyone's body reacts differently to medicine and they shouldn't just dismiss your concerns. This whole ordeal has been stressful for the both of us. Now I don't think I want her on BC pills at all. |

I have been taking Yaz for 11 days now to relieve severe menstraul bleeding, cramping and P.M.S. I am nausous and tired. I am 36 yo and have been depressed for at least 15 years of my life. Yaz has amplified my depression to the point that I can't stop crying and the feeling of hoplessness is more than ever. I am going to push through this at least to see the results of my period. My life stops every month for 2 weeks waiting on my period to start and end. I do not leave my home to go anywhere during those times. I plan trips around my periods. My whole life revolves around my periods. Does anyone know if it makes Your periods lighter?
I have not experienced any breast tenderness or headaches.
I can feel a difference in my skin clearing already.
I am not craving any kinds of food and for the most part, I am not hungry. |

| Houston, Texas - I also have been feeling what seem like pregnancy symptoms since being on Yaz for only 5 days. My lower abdomen feels tighter, or fuller, constipation, and mood swings. I'm more concerned about my lower abdomen feeling tighter and fuller. Has anyone else experienced this before? |

im finishing up my first month of yaz. for the first few days all i experienced was a few vommiting incidents but now progressivley i am having extreme mood swings and depression, its changed my personality i was never the mad type, i was the happy girl, now i feel irritable and always on the verge of crying. (i have nothing to cry about, brand new mustang in the drive way, a good job, great family) its like i cant controll my emotions anymore. im switching to lo estrin i heard its been pretty good.
other than that .. no health probs with yaz, i actually had weight loss. its just not worth putting up with my bitchy self anymore my friends feel like they dont even no me its definatly not for me. but good luck!! |

| I've been on Yaz for almost a full month now-I took the first of my "inactive" pills today. Prior to this BC I was an emotional trainwreck-I would just sit there and start crying for no reason the week before and during my period. My anger levels were awful and I was always so exhausted. The first week or two of the Yaz was rough. I was still really emotional and unhappy, but this week when I would normally be having terrible cravings, crying jags, bloating and cramps, I feel normal. I'm really hoping that Yaz is the one that works for me. |

I've been on Yasmin for about 5 years now and decided to switch to Yaz for acne. Today is the first day of Yaz and I'm hoping I won't experience any of the types of side effects as listed by everyone here. Granted it is only the first day, but so far so good. I'm hoping for some slight weight loss. And hopefully I won't get any crazy mood swings since I'm already on Wellbutrin XL for clinical depression.

| I started Yaz about 3 weeks ago and I have had migranes, nausea, my breasts are swollen and tender and I'm extremely depressed. I thought there was something really wrong w/ me. Can anyone recommend a type of BC w/ less side effects? Thanks! |

| I was on Yaz for less than 3 weeks. I started having side effects right away. Nausea, extreme fatigue, food cravings and hunger, sore and enlarged breasts, weight gain and water retention, irritability and anxiety! I called my Dr. and she said symptoms can take up to 3mos. to resolve....I thought I'd give it a chance...she also suggested if I was going to discontinue using Yaz to wait until the end of the pack. I finally couldn't take it any longer. It's been about 5 days snce I've stopped taking the pill and I now have my period. I am starting to feel myself again...but not back to "normal" yet. I was taking Yaz for PMDD....I'd rather deal with PMDD a few days of the month than these symptoms EVERY DAY!! |
