I was on Yaz for about 4 months, and had to quit taking it. The first month, I thought I just needed to get used to it. The second month wasn't bad, but the third and fourth months, if I got the least bit "excited", I would start a period. Seriously! It was like I couldn't even think about sex. My Dr. switched me to Seasonique, and the first five months I was on it, it was great. Now the same thing is happening with this one too. Sad I think I just need to go back to generics and stop messing with my cycle. *sigh* I'm currently researching whether or not this has to do with the fact that I've borne two children; if body changes post-pregnancy have anything to do with my intolerance to these cycle-changing pills. At least they were effective when I was able to "use" them!

My 16 year old daughter started yaz about 1 1/2 month ago because she was having such irregular periods. We have been having major issues. BAD cramps, to the point she lays in her bed and crys for hours. Very moody, sensitive skin and musles, headaces. I was thinking she had fibermyalgia (?). After reading all these postings, WOW. I am going to call her dr. tomorrow. This pill seems to cause alot of problems. Anyone with info on dr. who agree let me know. This sound like it should be pulled off shelves.

I can say I have been taking yaz for about 5 months now. At first it didn't really effect me other than not having a period for the two months. I thought it was a little strange. But now I'm fatigue all the time. My breast have swollen and are very sensitive. I feel emotional. I crave chocolate al l the time. And it did state it was to help clear up moderate acne. Well for me once a month it makes my face worse. usually i get a pimple here or there, but it has caused my face to explode. Anyway, After about a month of taking yaz my fiance and i have stoped using condoms. So i thought it was possible for pregnancy. However every test i have taken all come out negative. Whenever I take the sugar pills i don't really get a period it's just spotting for the first couple hours of my day and then it's gone. Also I feel that I haven't gain any weight but i do feel bloated all the time. Is anyone else feeling this way? and if so can you email me? *****
I would just like to know if this is a normal side effect. Or if i should go back to the gyno for further testing?..

I am on my 3rd pack of Yaz and started having pain in my sides and now it seems like I am having panic attacks or something. My breathing is off and I was wondering if anybody else has had a hard time breathing?

Im switching off Yaz! I've been on it for about 8 months.. and it just keeps getting worse! Mood swings, weird lower abdominal cramping, bloating, constipation, always nausous(sorry for the spelling) and now... I HAVE NOOOOO SEX DRIVE! none... and im 19!! something is not right. I was told Loestrin Fe was the way to go. I looked up the doses and the progestin is a different type, and it's a much lower estrogen dose than Yaz. I can't take it any more and I cant wait to switch!

Horrible headaches everyday and my boobs are really sore. sex drive is no different but i have had a loss of appetite, not that i couldnt stand to loose a few. Oh i dont want to switch again. this is ridiculous and I am really hating the fact that i am a woman. Sad

I just started taking Yaz 8 days ago, & stopped today because of the severe rash that broke out on my whole body. It started on my legs, & has spread to my stomach, & arms. It is awful!! At first I thought it was poison oak because it itches like it & looks similar, but it has only gotten worse after 8 days. It always itches worse in the evening after I take the pill. I got the rash a day or 2 after I started taking Yaz. I haven't had any other side effects, but my skin is sure rebelling! I hope I won't have scars after this ordeal! It itches sooo bad, & not much helps! After reading all these posts, I think Yaz is a terrible drug, & no one should be taking it!!!

i truly wish i would have found this website earlier. i just stopped taking yaz after being on it for 1 1/2 years. i did not put all of my symptoms together until i read this website. i was feeling terrible in general. the reason i stopped taking the pill was due to the extreme headaches i was having usually 2 times a month lasting for atleast 2 days each. nothing would help with the pain. it was so bad i couldn't even sleep at night without crimping my neck a certain way to relieve the pain slightly. i have had ear congestion, no periods (a lot of $ spent on pregnancy tests-all negative), leg/arm spasms, blurred vision, having to pee all the time, NO SEX DRIVE-just gone, feeling pregnant, weight gain, swollen breast (had to buy new bras) and a feeling of sadness most of the time. i work out 3 or 4 times a week and have gained this fat around my waist and back.
i never would have attributed all of this to my birth control pill. HOWEVER, i have stopped the pill and fell "normal" again. i feel like a fog has been lifted from my body and my sex drive is back. it's amazing to me that i did not put 2 and 2 together to figure this out before finding this forum. thank you for all of your stories, it really helped me not to feel so stupid for letting this go on for so long. i stopped my pill at the end of a pack and feel great. my ears are back to normal, i can see clearly and i don't have those terrible, terrible headaches anymore. thank god!!
