i've been really glad to find this forum. yaz was a disaster for me- although it seemed for the first 2 weeks or so to even out my moods, things progressively got worse. after the first week, i could barely make it home from work before i crawled into bed for the night, and even when i woke up the next morning after 10-12 hours of sleep, i felt strung out and exhausted. i was so moody, especially with my boyfriend, that i turned every conversation into an argument- actually i'm surprised that my boyfriend stuck with me through all of that. once i started to develop blurred vision from the pill (1.5 months after starting it), i decided to call it quits. now, five days after stopping it, i feel so much better, and my vision has gotten back to normal. my major concern at this point is repairing relationships that deteriorated because of my moodiness on this pill and trying to get rid of the acne scars caused by the initial cystic-acne breakout i had on yaz. hard to believe this pill is still on the market.

I am so glad to have visited this site. I had just made the decision to go see a doctor about my anxiety. I have felt crazy for about two months-as long as I have been taking it. I did not even think about it until my friend mentioned it. So I thought about it and did some research and she was right. The reason I have been extremely tired, irritable, emotional, crazy, and very anxious-is because of YAZ. I can't stop worrying about things I can't control. I am a worrier but it has been ridiculous the past two months. So I am going to stop taking it and hopefully my great boyfriend will still be around!!

I've been on yaz for two months and started noticing symptoms about two weeks ago. I am really tired, extremely moody to the point of tears, paranoia, depression, racing thoughts, trouble sleeping at night. It is so out of my normal character that I talked to my dad who is a physician and he told me to stop taking it. Since then I have started to slowly get better, I just cant wait till this horrible drug is out of my system!

Dear All,

I am so relieved that I found this website and read all of your posts. I also thought I was going crazy since I am turning 30 this year and a lot of changes are happening in my life. But the way I have felt and acted the past 3.5 months I have been on YAZ I know is not me and is not normal. The first two months I had extreme breast tenderness to the point where I could not lie on my stomach. I was bloated, had spotting throughout the month, and had sharp stomach pains and cramps sporatically. All of these symptoms seemed to have subsided and then the emotional and irrationality began. I became extremely unhappy (for absolutely no reason since I found the love of my life, have a great job, family etc), depressed, iritable, angry for no reason, I snap at people and overall I just cant seem to "deal" with everyday life and the people around me. And in addition to that I was uterly exhausted. I could not sleep well, had pounding headaches, had my first panic attack, was having diarriah once a week, felt like it was an effort just to get out of bed and get dressed in the morning, was unable to get through a workout (when I was working out daily), and all I wanted to do was lie down and be alone. The past two weeks have been especially bad. I have been crying, frustrated and annoyed at my boyfriend who is literally the best person I have ever met and have been picking fights with him left and right. The other night we were walking home from dinner and a girl smiled at him and I lost it. And I am NOT the jealous type. I was scared about what was happening to me and then I read this website. I have now been off of it for 36 hours and am currently having horrible cramps but I am so happy I have an answer to what I felt was destroying my life the past 3 months.

Thank you everyone and I am going to tell as many people as I can about this.
