Hello there! I am about to have an apicoectomy done in a few days and I heard that this procedure can cause nerve damage. So, I wanted to know what are the odds for this to happen?

Hi! It all depends on where your tooth is. If it is situated in the lower jaw, roots of these teeth are very close to some major nerves, so operating on these teeth does have small options for damaging a nerve. However, endodontists use x-rays to check where how far the roots are from nerves, so the chances of anything happening are rather small. Good luck with your surgery!!!!
