Is there interaction reported between attenolol and aspirin? I have started with attenolol recently, but I’m not informed about its interactions with common used analgesics. As I prefer to take aspirin when have headache, that happens almost 1-2 times a week, I need to know is it safe enough. I’m 52 years old, female. Also I have noticed that these headaches increased in frequency since I have started with the therapy with attenolol. Is that so? Please post. Thanks.

Well, I have recently read an article about study that was done with specifically these two drugs, atenolol and aspirin. That said that there were no interactions reported on pharmacokinetics of atenolol when given with aspirin. As I know, headache is not very common side effect of atenolol, but some of more common occurring side effects are light-headedness, insomnia, fatigue, low blood pressure that in some ways may lead to occurrence of headache. Atenolol is even indicated in prevention of migraine attacks. If I were you, I would contact my physician if those attacks would continue.
