Hello! I am a women aged 49 and a mother of 2 grown up children. I would like to when menopause usually strikes? I missed one period and today ( a month after the missed one) I got my period, but is very light. Besides that, I am having heat attacks if I can call them like that. I suddenly appear all sweaty and warm and I don’t know what I would do with myself. Then I become irritable and angry, sometimes I feel as if I just want this day to be over. Sometimes I even think I am going crazy. My best friend told me her mother was the same when entering menopause.

I was just the same 5 years ago. I have seen so many doctors, nobody dy could help me, nobody knew what was happening until I ran into a very nice, young doctor who explained what was going on with me. When we are entering menopause, there is a lack of estrogen production, which leads to lack of periods and all sorts of crazy symptoms. I used to quarrel with my husband all the time, I was so irritable and not to mention those heat problems. I hated when this happened. If it any consolation, you will grow out of it eventually. In the meantime, you may want to seek herbs or other treatments to lessen the severity of symptoms. Avoid hormone replacement therapies.
