My father has been diagnosed with some heart condition called Bacterial endocarditis. I need some info about this condition, how is treated…is he going to need surgery? I know he had blood test and echo…is that enough for diagnose? Please, tell me more about it I am so worried about him.
I asked around for you and diagnostic procedures may include: echocardiogram (echo), a complete blood count (CBC) and blood culture. And about the treatment for bacterial endocarditis…well it depends of hid medical history, extent of the infection, cause of it, his tolerance on it….although it is serious and it can cause severe damage to the inner lining of the heart and to the valves. The infection can be treated in most cases with strong antibiotics for several weeks.
