My friend was diagnosed with balinitis and he said I am also in danger because I have a foreskin. Is this true? Is there anything to prevent this? What is Balinitis?

Balanitis is an inflammation of the head of the penis. It causes redness or a rash on the head. It usually feels normal although it could cause discomfort. This condition occurs from an overgrowth of organisms that are normally present on the skin of the glans- it is usually Candida albicans. It needs warm and moist environment to multiply and then it causes inflammation. Make sure you keeo an area under your foreskin clean. Good hygiene is very important. The most common complication of this condition is phimosis - an inability to retract the foreskin from the head of the penis.
