Last monday i began to feel a bit sore on the right side of my vagina. I checked it out and discovered that i was quite swollen. On Tuesday the 4th i began to feel much more uncomportable and sore. Wednes day I went to my doc and found out i had -and still do have- a bartholin cyst. I began taking anti- biotics because it was infected. the next day is when the excruciating pain began. This pain proceeded throughout the weekend. I could not walk, sit, or even sleep well since it did not permit the ability to move much, especially if i had been positioned a specific way for a period of time. Sunday I began to feel less pain. Monday, even less. It is now Thursday the 13th and it is starting to itch. I feel no pain. the doctor told me the infection is probably gone. Could this be true? There is absolutely no pain anymore, but the cyst is a little smaller than a jaw breaker, if not that size. Although, it has reduced tremendously in size. My next appointment is on monday. My anti-biotics are finished already. I am also wondering why is has not bursted yet? From what i have read it seems like it should have bursted by now, since it is now thursday. My main question is if it is safe for me to have sex now, given that there ia no pain and the infection is probably cleared?

I wouldn't have sex just yet.give your body time to heal. You don't want to irritate that area again and cause another infection. When you see the doc may be they can pop it .You may still have to be on antibiotics a little longer.
