I was diagnosed community acquired pneumonia a week ago. Test that I did has shown that it was caused by Chlamydia pneumoniae. My doctor prescribed me baxin, once a day, to take for seven days. I don’t have fever any more and feel little better, but am not sure that am completely cured. I was worried when heard about Chlamydia in my lungs. Is it long enough to take baxin only for a week to cure CAP?

I guess that your doctor put you on biaxin XL. I had CAP 6 months ago and cured it completely with biaxin XL once a day for 7 days. It is excellent antibiotic and my physician told me that biaxin has shown to be more effective that some other antibiotics that were used for CAP before. It is clarithromycin, macrolide antibiotic that fights Chlamydia pneumoniae. This type of Chlamydia is not the same as one that affects genital area, if you thought that it was.
