My father is diagnosed with Bell's palsy syndrome. It has started to show ten days ago. First he was experiencing pain in the ear, then he has lost feeling of taste in mouth and eventually his left side of face has drooped. But he doesn't believe it is Bell's palsy he thinks it is a stroke. He thinks that doctor won't tell him the truth. Also he has troubles with speech. Can it be caused by this disease and how to improve his speech?

Your father must have more faith in doctors. Stroke and Bell's palsy have differences that doctor has to see. Your father has problem with speech and not with understanding what was told to him. He is experiencing this pronounce words correctly. Ha can go visit speech pathologist because they have experience in helping people with problem like your dad have.
