My surgeon decided to remove my kidney. I am having benign disease of kidney and it requires removal. He offered me laparoscopic procedure, he thinks that it has more advantages compare to other procedures. He assured me that scar won’t be longer than 9mm.Does anyone know details about the procedure, I am anxious to know.

Well, first they put you to sleep, and then they turn you onto side. They made incisions, and long instruments are put inside that through these keyholes. Surgeon’s hands are not inside you, he watches on the monitor your kidney. I can’t tell you about 9mm, but it is usually case that depending on if the kidney or kidneys are removed the operation could result in either 10-12’” incision scar over the flak or a larger 18-20” incision in the midline abdomen.
