biliary tract obstruction symptoms

Hi, I would like to know something more about possible diseases which can cause biliary tract obstruction symptoms. I have some problems with my biliary tract. I feel pain, itching and jaundice is also present. I am scheduled for ERCP in three days. What can I expect? I never had this kind of problem and I don't have history of these problems in family.

Biliary tract is very sensitive area of the body and there are many diseases that can provoke symptoms you have. Most common causes are gall bladder stones, iatrogenic conditions, sclerosing cholangitis, pancreatitis and other inflammatory processes, infections like HIV or oriental cholangitises. There can be some heavier conditions like carcinoma of pancreas and metastatic disease, gall bladder carcinoma, Mirizzi syndrome etc.
