My friend is going to have mastectomy and her nipple has to be removed. It turned out that it is not possible to graft the nipple on to the breast during the immediate reconstruction. It is possible to have a nipple made later. I am interested to know what techniques are used in nipple reconstruction. I have heard that bioform that has been used for some bra’s is also used in nipple reconstruction surgery. Is that a true?
During my post op period I had terrible time finding right bra. After 3 weeks of trying I bought bioform which seems rigid but is absolutely the most comfy thing I have ever worn.
I know that there are silicon stick-on nipples which can be attached to the reconstructed breast. I am not sure if they can be made of biofrom.
