Seroquel is used to manage what psychiatrists call the "mania" aspect of Bipolar Disorder. Mania in Bipolar disorder is characterized by a period of decreased sleep (usually only 1-2 hours a night), high energy levels, high mood (including irritability) and racing thoughts.

For that reason Bipolar people tend to be very productive. Unfortunately wheras Mania causes usually high-high's---it most often ends in usually Manic Depression, these unusually low-low's cause clinical depression. Clinical Depression is characterized by decreased energy, appetite, mood and often suicidal intentions.

Celexa is a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI). It is used for the treatment of depression. This should help prevent you from experiencing that manic depression and improve your mood in general.

I hope this helps.
