i have just had an operation due to having an etopic pregnancy. now every time i go to the toilet to empty my bowels i bleed heavily is this normal after a operation
I think you should call your doctor and mention this problem. I am no expert, and you didn’t mention what kind of surgery you had, but I will suppose they performed laparoscopy since this is the most common way nowadays.
All laparoscopies are intra-abdominal procedures and some problems and complications could occur during the surgery. It is very possible that certain infections or injuries will occur. The most likely injuries include injury to the bowels, bladder or blood vessels.
So, any bleeding from rectum is not normal and should be checked. If not an hemorrhoid, it is indicating bleeding from the inside.
