Hello. I have a father who is 64 years old and after going to a cardiologist he was find to have blocked abdominal aorta. I don't get it because he seemed rather healthy. He has no problems walking. Is this really that dangerous? He will go to the doctor to see if it is wise to operate or not. Any thoughts?
This could be serious. But the good thing is that abdominal aorta supplies the lower region, an not the head or heart. So he probably will not have a heart attack. If he doesn't get it operated, he might have problems with blood circulation of the legs. I think that your father will probably have a surgery or an angioplasty, because it is often done in these cases.
