Hi, I have a friend who is undergoing blood cancer treatment. What is actually leukemia and what is treatment for it?

Hi, leukaemia is disease of immune system, and there are several sub-groups of leukemia. White blood cells start to multiply uncontrolled and that causes leukemia. All of the blood cells originate in the bone marrow, so leukemia effects mostly bone marrow. Chronic leukaemia is a slowly progressive form of leukaemia and can be long-lasting. Thus, there is a lot of time to treat it. But, there are also forms that rapidly develop and can’t be treated. The most common is acute leukemia.
