blood in my baby's sinus mucous

my baby is 2,5 months old and she has a sinus infection. when sucking out her gunk with that special bulb there's streaks of blood in her mucous. is it common for sinus infectoins for babies or could it be more serious and needs to be treated differently???

my son (7 months) had a really small drop of blood in his mucous when his pediatrician sucked out his snot w/ the aspirator. The dr said it was a sign of ear infection.
