Hi, the blood sugar level indicates the amount of glucose in the blood. Normal ranges are from 4 to 8mmol/l. Usually, after meals glucose levels are higher. There are some other tests used to determine capacity of insulin, which is responsible for decreasing glucose level after meal. Your doctor will determine how to check if your glucose level is increased. In uncontrolled diabetes retinopathy (eye disease), nephropathy (kidney disease) and damage of peripheral nerves can develop.
