I sure hope someone here can help. In my neck just below the skull, my neck clicks and pops, hurts like hell. When i use my fingers, i can feel what seems like a surface piece of bone, that I can click back and forth. It actually moves and makes sort of a poping sound. This is where the root of my problem seems to come from. I've been having mobility problems in my left hand fingers. Some numbness and my index finger shakes when I move it up and down uncontrollably.

Any help or advise as to what this can be would be helpful.

in october, I had four cervical laminectomies and depcomressions. while in there, the surgeon found a large bone chip but was unable to remove it at the time (i was laying face down durning surgery) and for this surgery, my doctor has to go in through the front.

Unfortunately, if that chip is hitting a nerve, it is my understanding that the pain and numbness relief that I can receive can only be obtained when he can remove the spur (and do some type of fusion).

I am sorry that you are in so much pain. I added insult to injury this holiday season. I became incredibly ill. Vomiting for 3 days was killing my neck. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in the hospital recovering from an emergency appendectomy.

Where my spur is located, It is extrememly tender and still swollen. It causes pain and numbness to shoot into my shoulder and arm. At times, I can hear something going on in my neck (squeeshy and slight cracking)

I highly recommend that you see a neurosurgeon right away. They will perform an MRI to diagnose exactly what is going on. I my disks were bulding so badly that very little brain fluid was flowing at that point.

Please make an appoinment. You don't have to live with the pain and you don't want to risk permanent damamge. I will pray for your recovery.
