breakthrough bleeding for almost 2 months!!!! help!

i have been on ortho tri-cyclen lo for about 2 months, and the whole time i've been having breakthrough bleeding. my gyno told me to double up on the pills but that didn't help so he told me to finish this pack (skipping placebos) and stop taking ANY pills until my period starts so i can start a new pill. But i'm worried that the breakthrough bleeding will just lead into my period, and i've been bleeding for almost 2 months!! Is it possible for me to have breakthrough bleeding for almost two months and then get a full menses? Is there enough blood to become a period?? i'm so confused and worried! i dont want a period after all this breakthrough bleeding (which is just like a light period). Oh, and i am not sexually active.
