brestfeeding while taking microbid

I was prescribed microbid for my UTI but the doctor didn’t even ask me if I was breastfeeding or anything and of course I forgot to tell him. Today my friend told me that I shouldn’t use it because it is not good to use it while breastfeeding. What should I do? Go again and ask for something else or….?
