I am 19 and I have resently started birth control and I will be taking the white pills (like the placebo pills) in 4 days, but I noticed last night I had a brown discharge and what seemed to be a very lite period. I have also noticed all throughout today. Is this because of the birth control or what? Am i starting my period early on it or what? When I went to the gyno earlier this month, she insisted that I start taking the pills that day. So i didnt wait untill my period came. I am just really confused. Please help. Thanks - Shelby

I would say that it is probably a result of the pills. It could well be your period starting a bit early, it should sort itself out after a couple of months on the pill
