bronchitis in adults

I have read some studies that say how more patients of bronchitis are adults then children. I am interested to know about this because there is, I can freely say, a history of bronchitis cases in my family. I am worried because I have grown up kids and I don't know could they inherit this disorder. Tell me something about bronchitis in adults.

There are a few causes of bronchitis but none of them you can inherit. Adults are in bigger risk of occurring this disorder because the main reason for bronchitis occurring is smoking. There are also risk factors like air pollution especially for those working and living in heavily industrialized urban areas. Workers who engage in occupations exposing them to either inorganic or organic dusts or to noxious gases are in risk of chronic bronchitis.
