Hi. I am a 14 years old guy and my brother (11 years old) has bronchitis. When he went to see the doctor, doctor said that it will pass by itself, and that he just has to drink a lot of fluids, rest, and take an aspirin from time to time. Why does bronchitis happen? How dangerous is it? Thanks in advance.

Bronchitis happens when the air passages of the lungs get swollen. This irritation spreads from your nose to throat to the windpipe and airways. It usually lasts a week, and isn't so much serious if it is treated properly (plenty of rest, lots of fluids – that sort of thing). Your brother should get better soon.
